Jack and Ziggy's Painted Rock Adventure
A little paint. A little kindness. A whole lot of tail wagging.
Jack and Ziggy are ready for a walk, but this adventure comes with something extra: a basket of colorful painted rocks and a chance to make people smile.
In Jack and Ziggy's Painted Rock Adventure, an older black Labrador and his long-eared hound friend explore the beauty of Florida while their people share small surprises along the way. A sunny yellow rock carries a cheerful smile. A blue manatee celebrates the nearby springs. A bright flower becomes a special gift for Grandma. Each one is different, but they all carry the same simple message: someone thought about you.
From the wooded trails and suspension bridge at O'Leno to welcoming places around town, Jack and Ziggy discover that an ordinary outing can hold extraordinary moments. There are new things to sniff, familiar faces to greet, and little treasures that invite people to pause and enjoy the day.
For the people who find them, these painted rocks become more than pretty objects. They offer a reason to smile, a moment of connection, or a reminder that kindness can arrive when we least expect it. A rock can be kept and treasured, given to someone special, or passed along so another person can share in the happiness.
With warm, colorful illustrations filled with leafy trails, Florida scenery, friendly dogs, and thoughtful encounters, this story celebrates the joy of making something with your own hands and sharing it with others. Young readers will see how a small creative act can reach beyond the person who started it.
Jack and Ziggy bring curiosity, companionship, and plenty of personality to an adventure grounded in everyday life. Their journey encourages children to notice the people around them and imagine simple ways to brighten someone else's day. A gift does not have to be expensive or elaborate to matter. Sometimes a little color and a thoughtful gesture are enough.
Perfect for reading together at home, sharing in a classroom, or enjoying before a family craft afternoon, Jack and Ziggy's Painted Rock Adventure opens conversations about generosity, friendship, community, and the pleasure of giving without expecting anything in return.
Children and grown-ups can talk about what makes a gift meaningful, how it feels to be remembered, and why sharing happiness can be just as rewarding as receiving it. The story also offers inspiration for creating kindness rocks to give directly to friends, relatives, and neighbors, or to share in places where permission has been given.
At its heart, this is a celebration of time spent together: walking with a friend, exploring a beautiful place, making something cheerful, and noticing an opportunity to care. Jack and Ziggy remind us that we do not need a grand plan to begin spreading kindness. We can start with what we have, right where we are.
Come along for a gentle adventure full of wagging tails, colorful discoveries, and smiles worth sharing.
Because even the smallest rock can carry a whole lot of kindness.
Little Rocks. Big Smiles.
