Good, realistic story of adolescent depression

This is a good, well-thought-out story of a young man suffering from depression, and the timid, sad girl he befriends. The gradual growth of their friendship is moving and realistic. Very readable and interesting. Contains some guarded references to sexuality and emotional abuse, but nothing really over-stated. The ending is a bit unrealistic, but still, a very good book.
