'It's not my Fault but... It is my Responsibility!' is a story of a young boy called Robin who loves to move at super sonic speed and play fun games with his friends. He will often make mistakes. When this happens he will sometimes hear the words "that's your fault Robin!" Or he will think to himself "that's my fault." Which makes him feel sad. Through his everyday experiences and talking to mum and dad he learns that fault (blame) doesn't help anyone. Instead, by taking responsibility for his choices, he realises he can grow and learn and begin to flourish as a result of mistakes. He finds a language that will guide him forever... It's not my Fault but it is my Responsibility! The repetitive signature phrase of the book has had a profound effect on our own children, enabling them to explore the concept with us, their teachers and their friends. And because quick fixes do not exist, the language allows us to keep checking ourselves to keep our choices of our thoughts malleable. We are a wife and husband duo with a background in Human Education. Our children's books focus on some complex psychological values and concepts that we have used over the past two decades to help young people and adults, live fully. The idea is to explain these values through a story, in a way that young children can understand and communicate with their parents. So that they can begin to live into these values and see how it makes them feel. We want to help parents, teachers and educators have a connected language with the children they are responsible for. We have seen that the books can help children's wellbeing and encourage them to vocalise their struggles and not be afraid of their own greatness, helping them to become all they can be. This book is part of the Courage and Excellence Series produced by CourageCoach.
