The PERFECT beach read...especially in wedding season

This novel made me laugh so hard, everyone on the beach was looking at me. If you're a bride-to-be like me, you'll LOVE this novel about a bride trying to keep her mother and her groom's mother from fighting...I couldn't believe the clever one-liners in this book! It reminded me of "Juno" with the snappy comebacks. As a bride-to-be, I *wish* I could say some of this stuff to my mom and MIL! And you have to read about the faux bridal shower...that was too, too funny. They need to make this one into a movie. Pick this book up today -- it's a fast and fun read!
Laugh Out Loud Funny!!!

I picked up this book because I thought it looked like some light reading material. I started reading and found it difficult to put down when other things came up. While I was reading this book I had an almost continual smile and many times caught myself laughing out loud!! Sharon Naylor made her characters appear very real and I found myself actually able to relate some of the characters to people that I know. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to Ms. Naylor's 2nd endeavor in fiction, which I hope she will consider writing.
Not a big fan of Chick Lit, but...

This book was very fun and funny. I may be a bit biased as I'm going through a similar situation with my mother and mother-in-law, but it was hilarious. There is a lot of humor and wit in the book which makes it without a doubt, light reading. It's good for the beach or a plane ride. It was written so realistically, that I figured it must have been a memoir. I was surprised to find out it was fiction.
Fun, fun, fun!

This story romps through fabulously crazy situations as the bride-to-be, Emilie, tries to retain some sense of control over her upcoming wedding. The slightly kookie characters (reminiscent of early Rita Mae Brown) had me laughing out loud more than once. Just when you think you can't handle any more outrageous doings, Naylor reveals the deeply human side of her characters, fears and all. This is a jaunty read that will encourage any bride-to-be (or in my case, a bride-in-being of more than a few years) to look at her own family in a new light, and relieve some stress during the craziness of wedding planning. I'm looking forward to a sequel -- will Emilie survive the Momzilla's for the first year of marriage?!
Funny, witty, a real page turner!

This novel is a great find! From the first page, I could not put it down. It's hysterically funny, yet there's also a certain myterious element (will the bride to be's mother derail the entire wedding by her awful behavior--and yes, you will care), as well as unpredictable occurrences and fascinating people, such as a New Age-ish roommate recovering from being badly jilted. The characters are well drawn and believable and the dialogue crackles.
