David Hockney influenced me greatly during our friendship at Bradford Art College and in our CND days afterwards. I was born in 1938 and can remember being born. Happy but sometimes confusing memories of my childhood in the 1940s during the war. I spent my formative years not really knowing my father until he was demobbed when I was 7 years old. The book is a romp through the steep learning curve of childhood and adolescence which should bring a smile if not outright laughter to the reader.
