“It’S A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” (1963)

The movie starts with Jimmy Durante kicking the bucket. In the English version, he would have fallen off the twig. In his final death throes, he tells of a hidden treasure. Like a Dave Berry skit, everyone starts sane, and eventually, the movie becomes extremely ridiculous. We get chases on land, sea, and air. Filled with one-liners and crashes. “I’ll wager you anything you like: If American women stopped wearing brassieres, your whole national economy would collapse overnight.” We can only hope that everything will be wrapped up in the end. Director: Stanley Kramer Only a handful of the cast are mentioned in the six minutes plus introduction. Some of the cast did not get credit, but we know who they are. Cast complete: Spencer Tracy “Desk Set” (1957). Milton Berle “F Troop” (TV Series) (1966). Sid Caesar “Airport 1975” (1974). Buddy Hackett “The Music Man” (1972). Mickey Rooney “The Atomic Kid” 1954). Dick Shawn “Wake Me When It's Over” (1960). Phil Silvers, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” (1966). Terry-Thomas Jonathan Winters Edie Adams Dorothy Provine Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson Jim Backus Ben Blue Joe E. Brown Alan Carney Chick Chandler Barrie Chase Lloyd Corrigan William Demarest Andy Devine Selma Diamond (voice) Peter Falk Norman Fell Paul Ford Stan Freberg Louise Glenn (voice) Leo Gorcey Sterling Holloway Marvin Kaplan Edward Everett Horton Buster Keaton Don Knotts Charles Lane Mike Mazurki Charles McGraw Cliff Norton Zasu Pitts Carl Reiner Madlyn Rhue Roy Roberts Arnold Stang Nick Stewart The Three Stooges Sammee Tong Jesse White Jimmy Durante It is fun looking at the filming locations.
