A Broad Overview of Italian Politics

This is a good primer on the basics of Italian politics from the unification to the present. The book is not written primarily for scholars, but for the educated general public. It is easy to read and free of needless citations. The weakness of this work is that it is essentially a broad summary of facts about Italian politics and society, and as such, it necessarily comes up short on originality. But I enjoyed reading this book and would definitely recommend it to beginners and intermediate level students of Italian society.
