Twenty stories, twenty reflections, twenty poems about love, twenty maxims of ancient philosophers.
Taken from one of the many diaries in which I have jotted down anecdotes and reflections over time.
A true path of rebirth or consolidation of awareness of the constant presence of love in everything around us.
Because too often disappointments cloud the vision, lengthening the recovery time.
When a piece of writing is born to be published it is subject to a labor limae both lexical and semantic and syntactical that causes it to lose some of the originality that inspired its features.
Different, however, are notes like these. Intimate, true and instinctive. Born not for readers but only to stop an emotion that would be remembered, and perhaps reworked, in the distinctive features of some character in a future novel.
Such as, for example, "The Fate of All Things."
So, no sophistication, just authentic emotions, anecdotes jotted down quickly on paper napkins inside a caf or on the back of a subway ticket and then transcribed. Texts that do not (and should not have) any literary conceit other than sharing with readers some small, everyday suggestions. Notes, succinct reflections and poems in their raw state that summarize the feelings of the moment when the text was quickly written.
A journey into the soul of the writer. Words that find value in their own imperfection and in the intimate and personal imprint with which they show themselves to the reader, as if he were a friend.
