"It Was 11:59 PM" is a modern day Faustian tale. The protagonist, a young female artist is struggling to find her identity and success. The time is 1980. The setting is Los Angeles. A budding community of Artists is trying to establish an 'artist's colony' of sorts in a otherwise deserted downtown. The era is at sociological crossroads from the end of the Vietnam War, peace instead of war, equality of gender and race, sexual freedom, spiritual freedom, drugs and the upcoming but unknown plague of HIV. Confronted with an offer from a Hollywood music mogal, the character must choose between ideology and success. She despises the very things she is striving for, and the price one has to pay for success and fame while trying to maintain her soul of creativity.
