Growing up in an abusive household, Lux Abraham dealt with most things that a child should never have to deal with at a young age. He and his brother both witnessed their father die at the hands of their mother. Not finding it easy to forgive their mother, the two enter a pact to walk away from her and never visit her in prison again. Lux decided that he would pursue a career that would allow him to help people and that is why he became a detective and his brother became a paramedic.
Malaki has also grown up in an abusive household but unlike Detective Lux, the negativity in his life has made him a negative person and he takes his anger out on any woman he crosses paths with. Unable to have a loving relationship, he deals with issues the way he saw his mama and her boyfriend deal with theirs... by using his fists and his anger.
