I wrote this book thinking of the student I was forty years ago, looking for the simplicity of exposing a subject, chemistry, which seemed complicated and difficult to me. In the depths of my soul I was convinced of the contrary, that it was accessible to anyone if it had been exposed with less academic constructs. The purpose of these pages is absolutely not a professional treatment of chemistry, I only touch on a few initial arguments, as much as the attempt at a non-technical exposition, with references and similarities to everyday life, examples that would give chemistry a more aspect similar to common human beings eager to approach this fascinating subject. The choice of the title of the book is not in this sense accidental. The chapters that follow describe in easy-to-understand terms, with a discursive tone and without formulas some of the main introductory topics to the study of chemistry.
