Toxic Men

Colleen Hoover has a gift for writing about toxic men. This is only the 2nd book of hers I have read and both had toxic men in them. At the end of this book you will learn why she is good at it. But no matter what life throws at you just remember to "Just Keep Swimming".

It Ends With Us

The story has a great story line, and then to add in the squeal book of It Starts With Us, picking up right this book left off! Colleen knows how to keep you interested in the story line and wanting more, the flashing back and forth from present day to the past, makes it to where the reader can tie the whole story together.

Better than the movie, I would read this before watching it. I think this is one of Hoover's best writings!

Arrived in disgusting condition

Sorry, I’d love to review the content of the book, but the condition it arrived in was so poor that I literally threw it in the trash. I ordered a “like new” copy and it was bent and beaten up with mystery stains (on the binding and on the pages) and trash stuffed inside. Super disappointed and grossed out.

Relatable

I grew up in a home with domestic violence. I saw my mom go through a lot of abuse. This book hit deeper for me because I pictured my mom in it. My mom did leave my dad and that wasn’t easy. I like how the book showed the honeymoon phase before the abuse starts and how it grows. Her mom was an important part of the story and I liked her character. I am ordering the 2nd book now.

Ripped my heart out

The book had me locked in from page 1. It had me happy, hopeful, angry, heartbroken then happy and hopeful again. When I tell you I was in tears throughout half the book believe it. One of my favorite books.

Read this book before watching the movie

I read Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover and also purchased Verity. When I saw this movie come out based on the book, I knew I wanted to read the book first, before I saw the movie. (Always the best thing to do) I wasn't too sure what I was about to read, but was hooked immediately in the first couple pages. Not to reveal any spoilers, but I was shocked to know that the two main characters actions and scenarios are based on what Colleen herself witnessed growing up as a child with her parents. This made the book even more impactful for me. Domestic violence is horrible in any form, but especially graphic for children to witness. This book implements a deeper understanding for those suffering from it to take a stand, and cut it off at the source.

Oh My Gawd!!!

I loved this book! With the movie being out, I wanted to read the book first. I have zero regrets. Finished the book in less than a week. It was so hard to put down. These characters are so beautifully well written. You can feel the emotion jumping off the pages! Some scenes are so difficult to read, you feel the rage and melancholy. Just an enjoyable read. You find yourself rooting for some while you are awaiting the demise of others. If you have not read this book- what the heck are you waiting for!

All the emotions!

This book was so breathtaking! I could not put this book down. I ended up finishing it in two days. There is so much emotions going on that kept me reading.

It ends with us, and it starts with us oh my goodness absolutely fantastic book. I had a 7 year break from reading and these books are what got me back into my love for reading! I highly H I G H L Y recommend them! Finished it ends with us in 2 days because I couldn't put it down. 5 stars 10 out 10!

I could NOT put this book down!

i was hooked just a few pages in. this was such a good book, not sure if i liked it so much because i related to it, but just wow. i read it in 6 hours non stop. if youre a hopeless romantic i definitely suggest you read this book. ps colleen i love you 😭 also grab some tissues

Wow

First, I want to say I love this author!! Her writing is just awesome! I couldn't put this one down and the challenges Lily faces as a young woman are very real. The way she's able to overcome... wow. I was impressed!

Pretty Good

I enjoyed this book, which was my first Coleen Hoover book. Young romance blossoming in to adult problems.

I read the entire book in a day and a half, and I'm not even an avid reader but I just absolutely loved this book! only four starts because I would have preferred a different ending but that's just me personally. still an amazing read!

Hits on all the emotions!

I couldn't wait to turn the page and see what happens next. I would laugh, cry,.. also some steamy parts. I loved the detail that helped me imagine being there.

Nothing Crazy

Colleen Hoover has blown up due to the type of scenes she puts in her books. However, beside that there’s no captivating moment of this book. The storyline was decent but not a favorite.

I love “It Ends with us! “

It’s a beautiful love story about real life- growth- and breaking toxic cycles! Not for younger readers! I would say 18+ But I love the raw truth in this book. It takes you on an emotional roller coaster. But so beautifully written! My advice- never have high expectations for a book. Let it unravel its own magic on its own!

Amazing!

I never read literally never but I saw how popular this book was on tiktok and saw they are coming out with a movie about it starring Blake lively that intrigued me even more to read it. I was HOOKED!! I finished this within a couple days and now I’m searching for more books to read because it sparked something in me to want to read more. You won’t be disappointed!

This is the worst book I have ever read.

The writing is terrible. The characters are corny. The entire plot is predictable. What a horrible thrown together mess of a Lifetime movie script.

It was ok

I don’t understand the hype of this book at all. It was very frustrating and also predictable. I felt like it was easy to read which I liked but the characters names were ridiculous. It wasn’t very creative the ending felt rushed when other parts were long and drawn out.

The book started off a little corny for me personally. But I kept reading and once I hit that chapter (and if you have read it you know exactly what I am talking about) I couldn’t put it down. I finished it in one night. It ends exactly how you expect but that is not disappointing because it’s exactly how you need it to end. Easy and enjoyable read! Absolutely recommend.

I Read This Book Due To My Sister's Reference. I Normally Don't Read Many Romance Books, But I Gave This One A Go After Verity. Of Course, Verity And This Book Was Two Total Opposites. Overall I Liked It. It Didn't End How I Thought, But The Ending Was Great.

My Heart! This book did things to my heart!

This was my first Colleen Hoover novel, and she easily has made the list of my top favorite authors, easy. This book is is so well written, humorous, real, powerful, and overall just a work of art. It’s by far the most moving love story I’ve read thus far. It Ends With Us, is a character driven story that will have you on the edge of your seat, laughing, crying, angry, falling in love and being attached to every character. Nothing boring or cliche about this one, it’s a masterpiece. I’ll never forget it.

One of the most powerful books I've read in a decade

I will keep this short to prevent myself from posting spoilers (because I want to talk about all the things!). Colleen Hoover has written a masterful work with "It ends with us". She tackles a very difficult subject that is so very relevant now in a way that is so meaningful, thoughtful, and respectful to all of those involved. I cannot thank her enough for writing this book. I've already shared it with a friend who also enjoyed it. This is one of those "word of mouth" books that people just want to talk about after they've read it. I just love it.
