Finally a children's book which challenges the visual imagination and challenges the reader intellectually. Perhaps a new genre of children's books---not a picture book, not a chapter book, somewhere gloriously between.

The Life Lessons According to Earnest Continue....

The second book that chronicles the adventures of Earnest (bird butler to Telford!) took me on another magic carpet ride of imagery. Even without the illustrations, the story unfolds beautifully. The dreamy drawings, though, add a surreal quality and endear the characters even more! The pictures are wonderful - the story covers universal lessons. I'm waiting for the next chapter in their lives. Might there be a love interest for Earnest?
