First Place for a First Novel

Thank you J. Matson Heininger for an enjoyable respite from both work and the harsh winter weather. It Be Just Alright- An Island Journey has qualities one would expect from a more seasoned writer. I would highly recommend this novel and look forward to your future writing endeavors.

Sail Away Your Urban Worries

It Be Just Alright: An Island Journey is a surprising way to get away from one's land-locked life and sail the tropical waters of the Caribbean. The reader is taken aboard an old sail boat, which the three protagonists, two men and a woman, have purchased, sight unseen, while living in Colorado. The boat is in dubious shape but the two men, veteran sailors both, manage after considerable effort and a bit of drama to get seaworthy. The journey around the Carribbean is filled with adventure, danger, romance, and rum. The tropical breezes, salty air and surf sway against star-filled night skies and moonlight. Although danger is never far off, the journey dissolves into a badly needed vacation from the mind-numbing routine and bone-chilling northern winters. This book is a good read in any season, especially summer, when languid thoughts to escape to far-away places come over one. Highly recommended.

A Good Yarn

First, let me say that this is a good yarn. The author knows how to tell a story. The scenes of sailing were real for me and I am not a sailor. I felt that I understood the boats and sea and the island experience, even though I have never been to the Bahamas. The dialogue was good and the plot special. Mr. Heininger paints pictures with his words. There is beauty in this novel. I wanted to keep reading. I enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone who appreciates a good story, well told.
