Islands is a compilations of poems dealing with love, loss, longing, and in general the human experience. It is the lens through which the human experience is explored. It sets the perimeters, boundaries and scope of what it means to be human in a human body with human feelings. Furthermore, Islands explores how we as human beings connect to each other and our world. Also, Islands explores how perception gauges and molds experience and ideas. It is an attempt to paint a narrative on life and human experience, a guided lens to promote self reflection with a new way of looking at things. It is poetry, but also a philosophical esoteric way of looking at the human experience. It is open ended. It is a dialogue engaging the reader to see one's life as symbolic of an Island both physically, metaphorically, politically, spiritually and philosophically.
