We live in a time wherein our society asks of us to accept as normal that which is morally unacceptable. We live in a time in which common science is ignored in light of liberal philosophies and the average person is asked to pretend along with those suffering from emotional and/or psychological breaks with reality. We live in a time wherein the common usage of words are ignored and altered so that aberrant ideas may be accepted. We are living in a time wherein the value of sanctity has lost much of its meaning. We live in an age of moral corruption and decay. Marriage is a pledge, a covenant and a vow between a husband and a wife. It is a joining of families and the strengthening of communities. It is a sacred bond before the Lord of the heavens and the earth and as such, it is a metaphysical reality more than a physical one and it is in that metaphysical reality that real healing for our society begins to take root. This book is not a legal manual but instead offers an Islamic perspective for the readers pertaining to Marriage, Divorce and the Value of Family through the lectures of Sheikh Khalil Majdalawi (May Allah preserve him) as well as some social commentary surrounding these issues within the introductions and conclusions to those lectures. The entirety of this work is to make available to the reader a clear perspective on marriage and the family in the Islamic Tradition. We put this work out into the world, submitting it to our Lord and hoping that He grants it acceptance and success, and truly, with Him alone is all success.
