About the Author: The author has spent seventeen years as a student of Catholic education and another thirty-eight as an educator in Catholic places. He has taught at eight different high schools in the Chicago metropolitan area. This Irish Catholic Midwest culture is in his DNA, as is being a Cub and Notre Dame fan. When not with his wife, his life consists of raising kids, visiting grandkids, teaching, and all things baseball. He has written two other books: Like Night and Day and From Banks to Blowups. The first is about his adventures with the Cubs and White Sox from 1964-1969, and the second is about the adventures with the two teams in the 70s. His idea of fine dining is beef and cheddar on a croissant at Portillo's or a chili dog. He's lived on both coasts but prefers being close to cornfields. He watches movies on TCM when it's not baseball season. He loves music from the '70s and TV shows from the '60s. He has worked at a vendor for a minor league baseball team for thirty-one years and has made a commercial doing it. He drives a Honda Civic and is about as bad with technology as they come. Besides getting to heaven, the one thing on his bucket list is seeing a baseball game in every major league stadium. (He's 60% of the way there--provided they don't build any newer stadiums, which is not likely). His favorite books in the bible are Luke and 1 Peter. The best secular work he's ever read is King Lear; his favorite musical is Les Mis?rables. Write him and tell him what your favorites are.
