Jaguar and Land Rover are among the best known British based motor manufacturers especially since the Rover Group ceased trading. This work will examine how the takeover by TATA Group has had an impact on the running and direction of the Jaguar Land Rover group. Jaguar and Land Rover are motor manufacturers based in the English Midlands and Merseyside. At various points in their history they have been publicly owned, or part of larger motor groups. Both Jaguar and Land Rover have from time to time managed to make some really popular models yet were unable to become consistently profitable. They were both part of British Leyland, and then the now defunct Rover Group
