Irrigation engineering is part of civil engineering mainly focused on water supply and soil structure along with proper designing of canals and management of natural watersheds. Water is the prime component to raise the irrigation standards. Sometimes this water demand mainly depends on rain fall, but it is not possible in the areas where sufficient rainfall is not observed. In those areas the only way is irrigation by which water is supplied to meet the demand by making optimum utilization of available resources for improving irrigation standards to promote sustainable development.
