The book is just packed with suggestions and tips to help you on your way to a successful ironman. Whether just starting out or a seasoned competitor, Ironstruck is really informative and will inspire you in your training, help you conquer your fears and avoid simple mistakes that can inhibit performance so that you can approach race day with confidence. I reckon this book is going to be one of those bent, dog-eared bibles into which I will delve for inspiration over the next few years. Good, but...

I'm new to the triathlon world but a huge fan of reading everything that gives me information, inspiration and motivation. As a newbie (and very hooked on) I was hoping to find this book very inspiring and detailed, so one day, I too, want to try an Ironman. But I found this book very loose. It goes from one thought to another, back and forward on the experience. It loses focus, specially at the beginning, when it's supposed to catch your attention. It's hard to write, specially when you have so much on your mind, but I hope the editor of this book can re-focus the story, because so many thoughts, words and actions are lost in the way.

glad I ordered it

It was exactly what I was hoping for. A book to inspire, not to train. I will be reading it several more times. If you looking for fun stories, touching moments and an "I can do this" helper, then this is your book.
