A sweeping romantic-historical saga.

What a pity Flood Ladd has only written this one book (to my knowledge). Her characterisation, the historical content and the fast-paced action cries out for more novels. Nora compares in strength to the powerful figure of Mariko in Clavell's epic Shogun. She matches Ayla's beauty and style in Auel's masterpiece Earth Series. She is simply an unforgetable character. Strong supporting cast in her mother, Mary, and friend, Rachel. The story touches on a proud people, the struggle for survival in tough times, and a moral code that touches the heart.
