Iraq: 384 Days For Freedom: Volume 1

"If you would like to know a part of the price others pay for freedoms you enjoy and/or what's really going on in Iraq, read with an open mind. Mine is just one story. There are many."
-A.J., U.S. Army

Author A.J. offers a stunning look at the war in Iraq from the perspective of a soldier for the U.S. Army. Written in journal form, Iraq, 384 Days for Freedom describes A.J.'s time with the U.S. Army in the 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Iraq.

Beginning with his preparations to leave the United States and following him through his first glimpse of the desert, A.J. boldly shares his insights into a war that has split the nation. Frank and honest, he describes the 'view from the trenches" from his first three months of deployment. Often contrary to what the media reports, A.J. provides the unvarnished truth of the harsh reality that a soldier faces each and every day.

If you dont appreiciate your freedom now you certainly will after reading this book.

A.J. gives very good insight on the hopes, fears, dreams, and sacrifices made by many of the soldiers currently serving in Iraq. After reading a book like this it helps you to realize the good things you have in your life no matter how difficult a situation you might be in. Having served at one time in Iraq myself I can assure you that this is an excellent read.

We Need More Like This

It's about time we start hearing from the mouth's of the soldiers themselves who have served and/or are serving in Iraq, what's really going on... instead of the twisted and biased version that's all over the television and radio. A.J.'s depiction of his time in Iraq, is honest and yet a bit frightening for those of us who are behind the troops 100% and support the job they're doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. Looking forward to reading the next volume! Terri, Fort Hood, Tx area
