Investigation of Front Suspension of Automobile

Vehicle market is one of the fastest growing sector. Vehicle sector demands high performance in comfort riding. Vehicle presents major challenges in terms of servicing and maintenance. Worn suspension bushings cause inconsistency in steering parameters. Steering geometry is very sensitive to even slightest distortions in bushes of suspension joints. Kinematic analysis of front suspension of an automobile using experimental observations and most popular tool Denavit Hertenberg formulation of 3D mechanisms is reported. Steering performance parameters kingpin angle, caster angle, camber angle, toe angle, scrub radius, toe in and toe out of front suspension of vehicle are determined based on the position of kingpin axis.
