Easy to read and understand. Logical. And it works!

Finally, an investment book that makes sense!An easy to read and understand investment book which outlines five logical steps to creating wealth for yourself. The investment world would be a better place to live in if everyone followed these principles.This book does not give you any tips or tricks to becoming rich quick, nor does it reveal any speculative secrets. Simply put, it suggests to invest it in solid, well-managed bussinesses which have a proven track record over a long period of time.

I HAD THE GOOD FORTUNE OF MEETING THE AUTHOR AT ONE OF HIS SEMINARS(WHERE I PICKED UP HIS BOOK). I HAVE TO SAY HE HAS AN ENGAGING PERSONALITY. HIS INVESTMENT STRATEGIES ARE RATIONAL AND MAKE SENSE. I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE ADDITION OF HIS PERSONAL HISTORY AND HOW HIS INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY EVOLVED. HIS WRITING IS FRANK, EASY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND. CLIENTS OF HIS AT THE SEMINAR WERE EAGER TO DISCLOSE HOW MUCH WEALTH HE HAS CREATED FOR THEM OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS, BASED ON THE PRINCIPLES IN HIS BOOK. HE HAS THE TRACK RECORD TO PROVE IT - A JAMAICAN IMMIGRANT WHO HAS BECOME THE MOST SUCCESSFUL INVESTMENT ADVISOR IN CANADA. AS FOR HIS CRITICS - WHAT'S YOUR NET WORTH?

SOUND ADVICE FOR THE FEARFUL.

The other reviewers thought the author's tone condescending-I don't. The author is being direct , speaking in a matter-of-fact way. If you're looking for trading or speculating secrets, there are none. His five steps to wealth creation are logical, but not many people, including advisors, follow them. Like everything, read between the lines. He doesn't merely suggest investing in mutual funds-but exceptional ones, as well as great businesses(notice I didn't say stock!). If you're a day trader, you won't appreciate his advice. If any of the reviewers read on, they would have found out why EQUITIES are the best investment, for anyone. With examples of the BEST CASE and WORST CASE scenerios to make the most timid of investors sleep well. If your advisor doesn't make you feel at ease-READ THIS BOOK AND FIND AN ADVISOR WHO MAKES AS MUCH SENSE AS HE DOES. P.S. Keep the book nearby whenever there's a market correction-it'll help get you through it!

Informative and easy to read.

It's refreshing to finally find a financial book that gets to the point, contains good solid advice and is written in a humorous, easy going, easy to read style. I will definitely be handing copies of this book to my teenagers, friends and business associates! Richard's investment philosophy makes dollars AND sense!

Excelent book for anybody interested in long term investing

This book is particularly interesting for Canadian investors who are interested in long term investing strategies that will yield excelent returns. As a beginner in the field of investing, after finished reading the book, I really felt like somebody turned on the light and showed me the way. Written in plain English, with lots of clearly understandable examples writer leads you through the five principles of investing in which he trully belives and that are all based on pure common sense. If you are realtively young person and are interested in investing on a long term basis so that you can safely retire (even early) without fear that your lifesavings will outlive you, this book is for you.
