Linguistics is the term used to describe the study of language. It centers on analyzing both the form and the meaning of language, along with its context, particularly exploring the interaction between sound and meaning. Syntax, semantics, phonetics, and morphology are some of the major subfields within the domain of linguistics. The study of speech and non-speech sounds is denoted by phonetics, wherein the acoustic and articulatory properties of these sounds are examined.
