Elegant and clear

This text is used to teach the general introduction to probability course at the University of Maryland in College Park. I've used it over the years in other courses that call for a good grasp of the basics of probability. Markley's text is written in crisp, plain English. He illustrates the basics of probability with a wealth of examples, and there are more than enough exercises to reinforce the principles. A splendid text.
