A true treasure of a book

This book truly is a wonderful introduction to needlepoint lace. Nenia Lovesey gives clear and explicit directions for a wealth of stitches, and offers several variations for many of them. The clear close-up black and white photos give an excellently detailed look at works both completed and in progress. Ms. Lovsey gives a brief history of needlepoint lace, but the bulk of the book is devoted to getting you started. There is a chapter on designing lace patterns. There are also patterns given for lace for a wedding gown and christening outfit...even patterns for a lace parasol for a doll. So far it is the best instruction book for needlepoint lace that I've found.
