An enigmatic look into the enchanting world of DOS-based PCs

I first picked up this book to try to find some great old BASIC programs that I remember typing into my dad's old Televideo as a kid. But as I contiued reading, I found myself engrossed in the story: how a young, devil-may-care programmer turned a fascination with numbered lines into one of the first publicly accessible programming lanuages, made untold millions, and risked it all for the love of a woman... well, I don't want to give too much away, but let's just say, when I reached the denuement, on the subway on my way home from work, I wept. I full-on bawled, my hands shaking, and some old Russian lady comforted my until she reached her stop and got off the train.
