Introduction to Biomedical Engineering

Introduction to Biomedical Engineering is a comprehensive survey text for biomedical engineering courses. It is the most widely adopted text across the BME course spectrum, valued by instructors and students alike for its authority, clarity and encyclopedic coverage in a single volume.

Biomedical engineers need to understand the wide range of topics that are covered in this text, including basic mathematical modeling; anatomy and physiology; electrical engineering, signal processing and instrumentation; biomechanics; biomaterials science and tissue engineering; and medical and engineering ethics.

Enderle and Bronzino tackle these core topics at a level appropriate for senior undergraduate students and graduate students who are majoring in BME, or studying it as a combined course with a related engineering, biology or life science, or medical/pre-medical course.

NEW: Each chapter in the 3rd Edition is revised and updated, with new chapters and materials on compartmental analysis, biochemical engineering, transport phenomena, physiological modeling and tissue engineering. Chapters on peripheral topics have been removed and made avaialblw online, including optics and computational cell biology NEW: many new worked examples within chapters NEW: more end of chapter exercises, homework problems NEW: image files from the text available in PowerPoint format for adopting instructors Readers benefit from the experience and expertise of two of the most internationally renowned BME educators Instructors benefit from a comprehensive teaching package including a fully worked solutions manual

Good

This is a very comprehensive textbook, however, I will not recommend it to readers that only has an interest in the subject. Some of the content is highly mathematical, and as such meant for serious students in this field. The book covers a very wide range of subjects in this field.

Very comprehensive introduction to the field

This text is the best introductory book available, it is comprehensive and will serve the reader as a reference throughout his/her career. The authors have made a significant contribution to the field with this text and will help many biomedical engineering programs and their students.

Very good introductory book!

This text offers a lot of good information. This book provides an excellent overview to the field and is easy to read. I am a junior and an engineering student at Iowa State. This book has helped me understand how many different aspects there are within BME to specialize with in my degree and also elaborate on engineering fundamentals. I highly recommend it!

A good handbook for Biomedical engineers

This is truly a good book, for Biomedical engineers as well as graduate students. It covers much of the biomed's field with practical examples. This is a very good handbook to keep at hand...

Introduction to Biomedical Engineering book SLU review

I'm currently a student at St. Louis University, Parks College of Engineering and Aviation. I am a sophomore in Biomedical Engineering, and although I have not done extensive study with the book, our dean of Biomedical Engineering at Parks and other Professors at SLU rate this book as one that we should not have only for class, but to keep for our whole lives as a Biomedical Engineer. This book is great because it can be used at any sequence of a undergraduate degree program in Biomedical Engineering with easier topics such as Ethics to very challenging topics.
