Introduction Centers of Discourse: Perverse Relational Cinematic

The theoretical edifice of this project is structuralism and its outline and application of the concept of the signifier. The origin of structuralism is the creative analysis of language in the work of Saussure, L?vi-Strauss, Derrida, de Man, and revolutionary deconstruction. This foundational canon in Cultural Studies is later supplemented by innovation in psychoanalysis (Freud, Lacan), and marxism (Althusser). These writers are variously affirmed (ratified) and abrogated (refuted) over the course of the books in the two volumes of Perverse Relational Cinematic. These scribes of deconstruction, psychoanalysis, and marxism return not as the repressed but as the disavowed, the accepted and the denied, in the nooks and crannies of the words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs, pages, and so on of this extended text. The purpose of the introduction, Centers of Discourse, and the objective of this book on deconstruction, psychoanalysis, and marxism are to introduce the field (terrain, ground, landscape, topography) of the concepts that animate the words in this project. The introduction, Centers of Discourse, is neither a comprehensive exposition of concepts, or practice, nor is it a baedeker to the twists and turns of the books and volumes in Perverse Relational Cinematic. Rather, the intention of the introduction is to present a wide-angle view of the coordinates that establish the map of the volumes in this project. Angled, the introduction opens the horizonal vista of the comprehensive and expanded text of this series of books in the two sets of volumes. The audience for the introduction, Centers of Discourse, is the lay reader, the interpreter who must gather the broad framework of the concepts in this book before a foray into the substance of each book, nine individual texts (inclusive of this introduction) in volume one, Death.
