Dad and Papaw also gave me something that I will take to the grave, the love of hunting and fishing. Those two things have helped me more than almost anything else. When things appeared tough, somehow in a deer stand, duck blink, or a boat, I seemed to find a way to solve whatever problem I might be facing. I even wrote a lot of our first book in a deer stand on the backs of cigar boxes, if you can believe that!Out of everything we have to face in life, we need to remember where we came from and who we danced with, so to speak.
