Yes, this was a bit painful to read, but to those out there who have suffered abuse, you definitely want to read this one.... it will help you gather strength to avoid "perfect" so-called relationships (according to others) and trust your instincts instead...

Couldn't finish it. After repeating the same thing over and over again, I didn't care about the characters.
Spoiler Alert: Heads Up Before Reading My Review
Published by Linda Demaree , 2 years ago
This was a very good book - very hard to put down. Cathy Baily met a man who she thought was the greatest guy going until he started controlling her. When she tried to get away from him, he hurt her badly. The last attack left her cut and bleeding and barely alive. None of her friends would believe her about this guy, and so wouldn't say anything against him on the witness stand, only that they thought she was going crazy. He was sentenced to a couple years in jail, and while he was there she moved to London and started a new life. However, her fear of him was so great that she developed obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, agoraphobia, and anxiety attacks. Then she meets a very nice psychologist who moved in to the top flat in her building and they develop a relationship. He talks her into getting help for her OCD and Cathy begins to grow stronger everyday. Then, she sees an old friend, Sylvia, who wouldn't believe her about Lee and once again she begins to see Lee everywhere. He even came to her place of work to apply for a job. But Cathy keeps seeing her psychiatrist who is helping her overcome her panic and OCD and she continues to grow stronger. One night she comes home late to find that Stuart has been attacked and Lee is in her flat. She confronts Lee and he tries to over-power her. She knows that this time he will kill her, so she fights back with everything she has. That is all I am going to say because I don't want to give away the ending, I will just tell you that this book is very good and well worth the read. I can't wait to read another by Elizabeth Haynes. There are a few places in the book that tended to drag, and she might have been able to complete the story in fewer pages, but reading a few extra pages is a small price to pay for reading enjoyment like this.
Some genuine thrills but...

I admit this book took me a while to get into and I found myself putting it aside for a couple of days. When I picked it up again it became more interesting as well as giving some genuine thrills. It is like the beginning is slow, the middle starts to pick up and then its rushed in the end to tie up everything. I liked the plot even though some of it was predictable, I liked that it took place in London where the main character takes buses to get around. I wish the book had a better flow and more depth to it and fleshed out some of the characters.
WOW! Only 3/4 thru book, but hell of a read!

Initially I was thinking I would hate this book, with the back n forth date format, but it quickly became page turner! The author tells a precise story and it really keeps you wanting to jump to the ending! I ordered several more of her books just to fill the void once I'm finished with this one.
