Veteran Matthew Kenton is looking for a new start with his family in the country. After winning a small midwestern farm at auction the American dream is theirs until they meet the low class, violent neighbors. Angry at having lost the auction to Matthew, neighbor Liam Hatfield and his sons harass the Kenton family over several months. What starts as a series of neighborly disputes turns into the Kenton family fighting for their lives as the Hatfields assault the Kenton farm and try to frame Matthew for attempting to kill his wife.
