Someday in the future, which isn't specified, the entire world resembles Amarillo, Texas; it's all dusty and pleasant, but there's a blight on all the crops. So, what does this mean for us? The end of mankind.
But wait! Fragments of NASA will save the day; that means that Matthew McConaughey is on the way. There might be a bright future in a galaxy far, far away.
I will not go into more detail about this movie, as that is why you are going to watch it.
This movie could be considered sci-fi. However, there is no such thing as simple sci-fi. Several genres use the sci-fi label but are completely different. One thing they usually share is an agenda that uses science or science fiction as a spoonful of sugar. With many religious messages in sci-fi movies, they are B-grade; this allows the message to spill out easily and is disguised by poor sci-fi.
Occasionally, we see someone who can make a top-quality movie with great actors where the psychology and message blend seamlessly with the story, creating an exceptional experience. This is one of those movies.
You will not be disappointed in the production or acting in this movie, and as designed, you may have something to think about. Be sure to re-watch this movie for the nuances.
