I am a Librarian collecting for a library with limited shelf space, but this book will pay for its own spot. While its scope is much more limited than the Encyclopedia of Associations (4,500 listings compared to over 20,000,) its subject categories and format (one volume with index,) makes it very user-friendly. Within the subject categories, such as Environment & Natural Resources, and subdivisions, such as Global Warming, the organizations are listed alphabetically within type, such as U.S. Agencies, International Organizations, and Nonprofits. Very helpful are the URLs (spot-checked URLS still working at time of this writing) and cross-references to affiliated agencies. Included are several bonuses, such as a section on the United Nations. My copy (same ISBN as above,) says copyright 2000.
