Well organized and informative

Unlike many of the "nutshell" series, which can reduce a reading of the law below the level of comprehension or usefulness, this book really works. It is well organized, informative and very readable. If you are just starting to explore an issue in international environmental law, this is a good book to launch your query. Even better, this book gives you both a solid outline of the structure and substance of the law, and gives you a good introduction to several of the major issues currently in process. Like my dictionary, I'll keep this one handy.

A concise overview of international environmental issues.

Professor Gurswamy's Nutshell on International Environmental Law provides an excellent introduction to international environmental issues, without getting overly bogged down in either technobabble or legalistic boilerplate. It serves as an excellent introduction to the issues, and is clear to any layman.

A refreshingly unpretentious, intelligent book.

A must read for anyone interested in the environment and global politics. This book, though designed for lawyers, would be useful for classrooms from high school on up - and for laypeople interested in knowing more about international environmental politics, a subject of growing importance.
