Internal Quality Audit Process in Accordance with ISO 19011

Recognizing the importance of quality and in order to meet market, compliance, and regulatory requirements, an Algerian construction company implemented a Quality Management System and had it certified to the ISO 9001:2008 standard. Through this certification, the company has firmly committed to a path of continuous improvement by conducting regular internal audits. With the publication of a new version of the international standard for management system audits, ISO 19011, the application of its guidelines has become essential to ensure the effectiveness of internal audits and the added value of their results. In this paper, we have described and evaluated all the activities that make up the company's internal quality audit process; we have then sought to highlight the observed shortcomings and propose avenues for improvement in order to advance the practice of internal quality auditing by ensuring the application of the guidelines of the ISO 19011:2011 standard.
