This study investigates the plight of internally displaced children in Hatcliffe Extension in Zimbabwe. It explores the human security challenges faced by these children, and how the challenges affect the children's fundamental human rights. Data was collected using the semi-structured interview and the non-participant observation techniques. The research was conducted against the backdrop of Zimbabwean Laws and Policies pertaining to children, the international instruments relating to internally displaced persons and to children in particular. The findings of the study are that the children's rights are grossly violated: the right to housing; the right to health; the right to education. The government of Zimbabwe is in contravention of its own laws and policies including international treaties; Zimbabwe is behaving like an international outlaw.
