My favourite set of grammar books

I've been teaching English (EFL)in Brazil for the last twenty years and the Intermediate Grammar by Susan Kesner Bland, together with its Teacher's Book by Ellen Balleisen makes my favourite set of grammar books: I ALWAYS recommend them to my colleagues and students. It's a shame they have become so difficult to find. I assume they are not being published anymore.

This book is excruciatingly effective!

I am a graduate student at Harvard University, and last year I undertook a research project on the effects of written(as opposed to spoken and aural) teaching methods of English as a Second Language. I found Ms. Bland's textbook to be one of the primary examples of a well-written, cohesive, effective textbook. I don't really know how one goes about reviewing a textbook, so please do not consider this to be so much a subjective analysis as a large thank-you to Ms. Bland and as a call to all teachers and students of English looking for a fabulous text upon which to base study.
