Phytormones are produced by the plants themselves and command a series of physiological responses. In this work we used analogous formulations of brassinosteroids (BR) and auxins (AIA). BR have been recognized to attenuate damage caused by biotic and abiotic stresses. The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the potential of BR in attenuating or potentiating damages caused by the auxin herbicide (2,4D) in "Jalo" bean and in maize variety "UENF 508-6". The treatments were: Control (without application of EIA or BR), EIA (1000mg/L), BR- (0.1mg/L), BR+ (1.0 mg/L), EIA followed by BR-, EIA followed by BR+, BR- followed by EIA, BR+ followed by EIA (5 repetitions per treatment) in the flowering phase (bean) and vegetative development (corn). The plants were grown in pots (30L) with growing substrate (mixture of filter cake: clay: manure) in a vegetation house (uncontrolled conditions) located at the Instituto Superior de Tecnologia em Ci ncias Agr rias in Campos dos Goytacazes/RJ.
