Here I sit in my cell with nothing much more than my pen and a pad.
I think about life, both the good and the bad.
Wondering if things would be different if life went different than it had.
Though sometimes it gets rough, I don't get mad.
And on those days when I start to feel blue and sad.
I think of God's goodness, rejoice and be glad

The poems herein were written during one of the darkest times of my life. In writing them, I was able to live, grow, and recover in learning that troubles don't last always.

Today, Cynthia is the mother of 4 children with 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She also has an adopted daughter who has 3 children and a great grandchild from this family. For a person who was an only child from this family, God has blessed her to be the mother of many nations with a life full of family and love.
