Excellent booklet. Like the entire series. Wherever I go I buy a book from the series, of course if it does exist. The very best guide I've ever had.
Good for the High End, Short Term Traveler

This book is more suited to those with money to spend and/or only a short time to explore. 'The Best of Taipei' section is useful, with ample information on walks, views, sights, etc., and all the suggested spots are nicely cross-referenced with vivid maps, although they lack Chinese names - a potential problem as taxi drivers can barely say the word 'taxi.' The back has a detailed atlas and a quality index and there are great photos. The fact that almost all of the 'places to eat' are hotels should tell you that this is not for the shoe string budget traveler. If you'd like to have a better idea of what it's like to reside in Taipei (or of what goes on there) please see my own book. Troy Parfitt, author
