The author intends this bookto be a starter for further study and discussion into what a chaplain's role is in the corrections system. The book offers a look inside the prison fence. Chaplain Schilder suggests a number of ways in which Chaplains, Administrators, and lay ministers can prepare themselves for this very unique and specialized ministry.Although a Roman Catholic himself, Chaplain Schilder recognizes the church community within the arena of the prison.
