In an overview of the history of the sport of boxing, Seltzer presents vivid accounts of the most spectacular fights in history, from the bare-knuckle brawls of the late 19th century to modern massacres at the dawn of the 21st century. 176 color and bandw photos.
I loved this book because I love boxing. The book takes you through the history of boxing, from the beginning when fights didn't have round limits, to a section of future stars. It also has sections related to women's boxing, trainers and promoters.Although the book is very informative I resented the fact that it doesn't present the darker side of boxing, specially scandals and fixed fights. If you buy this book keep in mind that the future stars section is a little outdated, since many of the profiled boxers are either actual stars or have fallen to other fighter. An example is David Reid which presented as a future star, but he was badly beaten by Felix Trinidad.
