Elusive, unique and brutal, a conquest of innocent minds

The author has written an unbiased account of events that occurred over 2 decades and given insight to the reader. He has brought behind the scenes accounts by his roving interviews of persons who new the main charater. Told in away that leaves the reader spellbound and yet, disgusted to know that many were lost because of one man's whim. A man who did not practise what he preached and used cuning and deceipt to lead many innocent lives into a chasm of hate and blood lettting. Velupillai did suceed in waking up the Sinhalese to the reality that they must share life with their Tamil breathren in unity and with equity before he lost his way in the late 80's. The book stimulates thought and suggests to the reader that amazingly many a world leaders were put to shame for having endorsed his quest for almost 2 decades before realization set in. Many have inadvertently been led and influenced by his movement that has many loosely established front organizations to penetrate in depth the democratic fabric of the west to his best advantage. This books is a must read for those who are world leaders especially if they are to thwart Al Qaida taking a cue for Swat Valley as they may soon emulate current event in a 5 sq. mile beachhead in southeast asia.

Written from a neutral point of view.

This is an amazing work which discusses the problem of terrorism in Northern Sri Lanka from a neutral point of view. Those of us who lived in Tamil Nadu during the 1980-90's have seen the growth and decay of Prabhakaran's popularity and have wondered what could be the reason for the crazy behaviour of LTTE which made all the Tamilians feel ashamed for having supported them. All attempts to justify their actions by putting the blame on IPKF's "attrocities" were poorly fabricated and never convinced anyone who can think logically, keeping the emotions and ethnic sentimets aside. This book presents information from a neutral point of view. It is upto the reader, to judge who the criminals are? But before reading the book it is important to bear in mind that one cannot see the truth if he/she is stupidly patriotic, emotionally attached to one's language or culture. It is alright to be proud of your culture and ethnicity, but keep those aside and make an attempt to see the truth through analysis and not by justifying all the uncivilized actions committed with the ulterior intention of gaining power and domination.
