When I came back to the Catholic faith as an adult, I devoured the catechism, I attended prayer meetings and retreats, and I studied the Word of God. I read the catechism like its words held a set of keys to the kingdom, but there was so much to process, so much information, so much to understand. Since I tend to think in music and poetry, I wrote the nuggets of my understanding into poetry. The reflections were my way to process the information. Rewriting in shortened, succinct prose was my way of embracing my newfound faith. This book includes those reflections, or poetry, on Part One of the Second Edition of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, or what I like to refer to as the Green Catechism, since the book is green. I hope you enjoy the writings and find blessings within them. If you are new to your Catholic faith, I hope these reflections help you go deeper into your faith, as they did for me.
