This book compiles the research papers presented at the VI International
Conference on Smart Technologies and Systems (CI3 2025), held on September 18 and
19, 2025, at the Oro Verde Hotel in Cuenca, Ecuador. The conference was organized by
the Research, Innovation, and Technology Transfer Network (RIT2), comprised of
Ecuador's most prominent university institutes, including American College, Argos,
Bolivariano, Central T cnico, Cordillera, Del Azuay, Esp ritu Santo, Humane, ISMAC,
ITCA, Oriente, Polic a Nacional, Rumi ahui, San Isidro, Sucre, Sudamericano and Vida
Nueva. Additionally, the event was sponsored by the Ecuadorian Corporation for the
Development of Research and Academia (CEDIA), Indoam rica University, GDEON, the
Visual Communication Laboratory of the State University of Campinas (Brazil), Ana G.
M ndez University (Puerto Rico), the Research Group on Innovation and Digital Education
of the Salamanca University (Spain), the Research Group on Electronic Design of the
Zaragoza University (Spain) and FAVIT (Spain).
The main objective of CI3 2025 was to create a space for dissemination and
collaboration, where academia, the productive sector, and government could share
ideas, experiences, and the results of their projects and research.
The proceedings cover the following topics: Innovation and Development, Applied Technologies, Smart Cities and Industry, ICT for Education.
"Discover the future, where innovation and research meet" is the conference's
motto and suggests research and innovation as important pillars on which social and
economic development is based.
CI3 2025 received 107 submissions, of which 58 were accepted for oral
presentation and publication. To ensure the conference's quality, CI3 2025 assembled a
team of over 70 experts from various countries, including Spain, Argentina, Chile, Mexico,
Colombia, Peru, Brazil, and Ecuador, who conducted a thorough review of each proposal.
