An interesting look into the life of American Muslims immediately after 9-11
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 19 years ago
As an American Muslim, I welcomed this novel exploring the emotional, social, economic, and political ramifications of 9-11 on American Muslims. While I didn't react the way the characters in this book do, a lot of Muslims did. Even more importantly, a lot of Muslims are still feeling the same way, or perhaps worse, as the image of Islam slips in face of the ongoing conflict in Iraq and continued terrorist attacks by radical Muslim groups, and as incidents of vandalism and threats against mosques in America steadily increase. I think this book would be a great read for book groups or church groups who'd like some insight into what it's like to be an American Muslim today.
An Excellent book!

This book commanded my attention from the begining till the end. I finished it in 2 days. The book is not only entertaining but also insightful - it brings out the experiences of a Muslim American family in the aftermath of the 9-11. The Author's writing style is truly encapturing.
