From back of the book: When impetuous young Fenella Morland was banished from fashionable London to her family's country estate for thoughtlessly rishing scandal with a masked stranger, her elders thought she would be safe there from temptation. But Fenella was too beautiful and high-spirited to remain safe anywhere for long. On one hand, there was Gervase Wakeford, a noble hero home from the wars, as upright and honest as the day was long, asking for that hand in marriage. On the other hand, there was his brother, Hereward, devilishly handsome and as seductive as a midsummer's night, asking for far more. Good sense told Fenella what she should do. But what she would do was quite another question. Especially when a moment of madness could be so sinfully sweet... I liked this book a lot, it was a finely written story. I particularly liked the way that Ms. Gray portrayed characters--she didn't just tell the story, she also gave an indepth description of characters' feelings and reasons behind their actions; I felt they were all very real. I would actually give this a 4 1/2 star, the reason for not giving higher is because I think the ending was a bit hastily concluded, Ms. Gray should spend few more lines on Fenella's change of heart towards Gervase. But I really do feel like giving Fenella a good scolding for being so imprudent and stubborn sometimes.
