great book for writers, writing teachers, students
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 20 years ago
Engaging collection of interviews with a broad range of writers talking about their work, their inspiration, technique, philosophical musings, practical advice. Particularly appreciated is the fact that Kingsbury includes so many interesting writers, not just the same old good ol' boy mafia of Faulkner and Barry Hannah wannabes. This book takes the "expanded canon" view of "INVITED GUEST,An Anthology of Twentieth-Century Southern Poetry" and applies it to an eclectic mix of contemporary Southern fiction writers, an essayist,a couple of poets, etc. I'm hoping for a volume 2.
